Summer vacation in schools of Assam rescheduled from 15 May to 14 June

May 13: In view of the surge in coronavirus cases, all educational institutions in Assam were ordered to remain closed until further orders. It is in this connection that the Education Department has devised ways and means to ensure that the students does not incur any academic loss. As such, the summer vacation in all Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary schools of the state has been rescheduled from 15 May to 14 June, 2021. This was stated in an order issued by B Kalyan Chakravarthy, Principal Secretary, Education Department, Dispur. Earlier, the summer vacation of schools in Assam was supposed was scheduled from 1 July to 31 July, 2021.

The said order stated, “Considering the fact that in view of Covid-19 situation in the State of Assam and Educational institutions being closed as on date and with the objective of ensuring that the students of Elementary, Secondary and Sr. Secondary Schools (Class I to 12) do not suffer from any academic loss and therefore, it is decided that the Summer Vacation in Schools scheduled from 1st July to 31st July, 2021 as per Academic Calendar, is hereby rescheduled from 15th May, 2021 to 14th June, 2021.”
