Substantial quantities of narcotic substances seized, arrested 9 in Cachar

way2barak April 14: Based on credible intelligence Cachar Police has launched 4  separate operations in the wee hours on 13th April against the transportation of illegal drugs and seized substantial quantities of narcotic substances.
Cachar Police apprehended two peddler namely Makbul Hussain of Dholai and Jamaluddin of Sonai on NH 37 near ONGC a during thorough search recovered 6 nos of soap cases containing suspected heroin kept concealed weighing about 78 grams.
Acting on a tip off Cachar Police intercepted a Night Super Bus inside which two peddlers apprehended namely Dilbar Hussain (24) and Kamrul Islam (26) both residents of Hailakandi carrying 13 soap cases containing suspected heroine weighing about 149 grams under the jurisdiction of Kalain Police Station.
Cachar Police acting on an input raided a house of person namely Anar Hussain, a resident of Saidpur, Silchar and recovered 16 soap cases containing suspected heroine weighing about 177gms. Further legal action is being initiated.
Cachar Police also launched special drive against drug peddlers in Silchar area and apprehended 5 peddlers with 44 vial containing suspected drugs weighing about 12 gm.
Within 24 hours Cachar Police recovered about 416 grams of narcotics substance worth Rs 2 crores.The narcotics substances were seized and sealed in presence of independent witnesses.
