Student of HS 1st year died in a road accident at Srikona on his way to appear in exam at Silchar

May 30: In a tragic incident, a student of Higher Secondary 1st year died on Monday morning in a street accident at Srikona. The deceased student was identified as Ratnadeep Sharma. As per report, on Monday morning, Ratnadeep was coming to Silchar in a scooty for appearing in the HS 1st examination. He was most probably trying to overtake an army vehicle. At that moment, an auto rickshaw came from opposite side and he suddenly applied brakes. His activa slipped due to wet road conditions as it rained in the morning. He sustained grave injury. However, contrary to this, some locals claimed that the boy fell down as he was hit by the Assam Rifles vehicle.

The accident took place in the highway near Kalyani Hospital at Srikona. The army personnel after hearing the noise claimed to have stopped their vehicle. The injured boy was rushed to Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) for treatment. However, it was learnt that the boy lost his life before he could reach the hospital. The deceased Ratnadeep Sharma was also a student of DSA Cricket Academy, Silchar.
