Oct 2: In a bizarre incident, a 52-year-old old ailing school teacher identified as Tarun Kumar Nag was admitted in in Khowai district hospital in Tripura on Thursday after he complained of illness. In the hospital, his COVID test was done and Nag tested positive, following which he was shifted to the Covid ward. However, within a hour or so, the doctors on duty at Khowai district hospital declared Tarun Kumar Nag to be dead. The doctors of the Khowai hospital even handed over a death certificate to Nag’s grieving family members.
On being informed about his father’s death, Trideep Nag, son of Tarun Kumar Nag rushed to the hospital. Trideep Nag is an intern doctor at the GBP hospital in Agartala. Wearing a PPE Kit, Dr. Trideep Nag went to see the dead body of his father. What he saw was perhaps the greatest surprise of his life. He discovered that his father was alive!
In fact, his father’s pulse rate was actually higher than the normal human average. Although the normal human pulse rate is 72, Tarun Kumar Nag’s pulse rate had reached 123-125. At once. Dr. Trideep raised a hue and cry. The patient was then brought to GBP hospital at Agartala for better treatment.
This bizarre incident has raised several eyebrows on the conduct of the doctors at Khowai district hospital. Dr. Trideep Nag also expressed resentment over the attitude of the doctors at Khowai. The 52-year-old’s family members alleged that the doctors of the Khowai hospital did not even touch the sick man and only looked at him from a distance before declaring him as “dead.”
