State govt enhances DA & DR of employees & pensioners by 3% with effect from 1 July

Nov. 24: In the weekly Assam Cabinet on Wednesday at Bongaigoan, several key decisions were taken. The Cabinet Meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Among others, the Cabinet has decided to enhance Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for the serving state government employees and pensioners respectively.

The State Cabinet enhanced DA and DR by 3 percent with effect from 1 July, 2021. The existing rate of DA and DR for the state government employees & pensioners was 28 percent. Now, with the 3% hike, DA and DR will be 31%.

Taking to his twitter handle, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Enhancement of Dearness Allowance/ Dearness Relief @ 31% (28%+3%) to serving State Govt employees/ pensioners/ family pension holders/ extraordinary pension holders in the revised rates effective from 1 July 2021.”
