Spike continues in Assam; 591 found Covid positive & 4 deaths registered on Wednesday

Jan 5: On Wednesday, out of 34,314 tests, 591 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Assam. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 6,22,488. The positivity rate in the state is 1.72 percent. Kamrup (Metro) district registered 279 positive cases during the day. Further, on Wednesday, 04 died in the state due to COVID-19. The deceased are from Barpeta, Sonitpur & Tinsukia. The death toll in the state stands at 6,174. The recovery rate is 98.47 percent. Also, 196 patients were discharged during the day. At present, there are 1,979 active cases in the state.

It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 475 persons tested positive in Assam and 03 deaths were registered.
