Snowfall occurred in Tuensang, Kiphire, Zunheboto, Phek, Kohima and Peren districts. Luvishe, a medium-size village in Aghunato Circle of Zunheboto district, Nagaland, is witnessing a snowfall after 37 years.

Scientist Sunit Das of the Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati said, “We have a centre in Nagaland that was set up some years ago. It never reported snowfall in the state.” Some locals, however, said the state indeed witnessed snowfall on a few occasions but those occurred many years ago.

Taking to Twitter, H. Khehovi, MLA from Suruhoto Constituency in the Zunheboto district of the state shared photos of the snowfall in Nagaland. “What a wonderful gift for the people of Luvishe Village under Aghunato sub-division of Zunheboto district to experience snowfall after 37 years.
