Viral message claiming Citizenship Amendment Rules, 2020 published by union govt is FAKE

Nov. 27: A “portable document format” (pdf) file widely circulated in social media platforms and claiming to be “Citizenship Amendment Rules, 2020” issued by the Union Government is not true. The same was investigated by PIB Fact Check. Taking to its twitter handle on 27 November, 2020, Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check wrote, “A message claiming that the Central Government has notified rules for the Citizenship Amendment Act (#CAA) is doing the rounds on social media. #PIBFactCheck: This claim is #Fake. No such rules have been notified by the government and nor do they exist.”

Asking netizens to beware of such misleading news, PIB debunked the lies being forwarded on social media platforms. This is #Fake. Beware of such misleading photos spreading fake news.
