Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra remanded in police custody till July 23

July 21: Businessman and Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra, remanded in police custody till July 23 by a Mumbai court on Tuesday in a porn films case. He was allegedly involved in making and selling pornographic material and gaining financially from the illegal activity, the crime branch alleged while seeking his remand.

Kundra (45), husband of Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch on Monday night in a case, which it said, related to alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.

According to the official statement by Mumbai Police, Raj Kundra appears to be the ‘key conspurator’ in the case.Kundra was booked under Sections 292, 293 (sale of obscene material) under the Indian Penal Code, Sections 67, 67A (transmission of sexually explicit material) under the Information Technology Act and provisions of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

He was arrested by the Mumbai Police on Monday and produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Esplanade for remand. After hearing both parties at length, the CMM at Esplanade remanded Kundra to police custody.
