গান্ধীবাগ বাঁচাও: স্বাক্ষর সংগ্রহ অভিযান শুরু
Save Gandhi Bagh: Mass signature campaign starts

১৫ অক্টোবরঃ গান্ধীবাগ বাঁচাও, সবুজ রক্ষা করো– এই আহ্বান জানিয়ে দফায় দফায় আন্দোলন চলছে। মঙ্গলবার এরই অঙ্গ হিসেবে শুরু হয়েছে গণস্বাক্ষর সংগ্রহ অভিযান। সন্ধ্যা নামতেই বিভিন্ন বয়সের প্রতিবাদী জনতা জড়ো হন কলেজ রোড-চেংকুড়ি রোডের সংযোগস্থলে। গান্ধীবাগ বাঁচানোর আবেদনে সাড়া দিয়ে পথচলতি প্রচুর জনতা দাবিপত্রে স্বাক্ষর করে যান। তাঁরা নিজেরাও গান্ধীবাগে হোটেল, মল খোলার উদ্যোগের সমালোচনা করেন।

আন্দোলনকারীদের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়েছে, এই অভিযান কিছুদিন চলবে। শহরের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় তাঁরা যাবেন। একদিকে স্বাক্ষর সংগ্রহ চলবে, অন্যদিকে পথসভা।

প্রথম দিনের কর্মসূচিতে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্বজিত দাস, হিল্লোল ভট্টাচার্য, বিশ্বজিত শীল, অরিন্দম দেব, স্নিগ্ধা নাথ, পার্থসারথি দাস প্রমুখ। তবে আন্দোলনের শুরুর দিকের পরিচিত মুখ অনেককেই এ দিন দেখা যায়নি।

October 15: Save Gandhi Bagh, Save Green– Serious of movements are going on raising this slogan. As a part of this environmental movement, mass signature campaign was started on Tuesday. In the evening, environmental activists belonging to different age group assembled at the junction of College Road & Chenkuri Road point. Large number of pedestrians gave response to the call and put their signatures in the demand letter for protecting Gandhi Bagh. They also severely criticised the steps adopted for constructing star hotel and shopping mall destroying the green cover of Gandhi Bagh.

Those spearheading this ‘Save Gandhi Bagh’ movement informed that the mass signature campaign will continue for few more days. They will go to various parts of the town, organise street cornering and collect signatures.

Those present in this campaign today are Biswajit Das, Hillol Bhattacharjee, Biswajit Seal, Arindam Deb, Snigdha Nath, Partha Sarathi Das among others.
