Saumyajit Chakraborty from Earle HS School, Cachar gets state award on Teachers’ Day
Sept. 5: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, it is customary for the state government to honour select teachers by the government in a state level function organised in Guwahati. This year too, a similar kind of felicitation ceremony was organised by the state government. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, it was a low-key affair. At the secondary level, Saumyajit Chakraborty, Assistant Teacher of Earle HS School was conferred the state honour from Cachar district.
The award ceremony was held in Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati on 5 September. participating in the event, Dr. Bijoya Choudhury, Director of Elementary Education Assam said that it was a proud moment for the Government of Assam to confer the State Award, 2020 upon the illustrious teachers of the state. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also graced the occasion.
Expressing his reaction, Saumyajit Chakraborty said, “I am extremely happy to get this prestigious state award. This has given me impetus to do more hard work for my dear students. I take this opportunity to thank everyone who came across my life and inspired me in every step.” MLA Lakhipur, Rajdeep Goala also congratulated Mr. Chakraborty on his achievement.
It needs mention here that Pranabananda Vidyamandir from Cachar was adjudged as the best performing school during the year 2020-21. The Principal of the school, Partha Pratim Adhikari received the award during the day in Guwahati.
