Sarbananda invited women staffers to tie rakhi to him

way2barak, Aug 20: On Raksha Bandhan, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal gave a pleasant surprise to the women employees of his ministerial office. He invited women staffers from the Ministry of Ports Shipping & Waterways, Sagarmala Development Company Limited, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) to his office and allowed them to tie ‘rakhi’ to him. The minister said he wanted to make them feel as part of one family. The staff members were excited, especially those whose brothers were away on the day of the festival. The occasion ended with the distribution of sweets — ‘kaju katli’ and ‘boondi ke laddoo’ — which came from the minister.
