RTI reveals new mystery! Was Subhash Chandra Bose indeed ‘Gumnami Baba’?

Govt lab refuses to provide DNA test data of Gumnami Baba to RTI activist on national security grounds

way2barak, Oct.21: Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Kolkata under the Directorate of Forensics Science Services Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India turned down Right to Information (RTI) request of one Sayak Sen (activist of Mission Netaji) to share copy of the  electropherogram on the basis of which it was concluded that Gumnami Baba was not Netaji. Three reasons have been given cited by CFSL in support of their reply of refusal to the RTI appeal. These are: National security, trade secrets and third party information.

But the big question here is that- can a Baba (Gumnami), an ordinary sadhu be so powerful that revealing his identity via electropherogram could disrupt national security and can also affect trade secrets! So naturally the doubt intensifies: Was Gumnami Baba really Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in disguise?

An electropherogram is a plot of results from an analysis done by electrophoresis automatic sequencing. An electropherogram shows a sequence of data that is produced by an automated DNA sequencing machine. Electropherograms may be used for deriving results from: genealogical DNA testing. paternity testing. A Personal electropherogram gives you the opportunity to view your one and only DNA sequence in the form of a computer-generated graphs which shows the DNA fragments analysed during DNA sequencing.

Anuj Dhar, Netaji researcher who has been fighting for the truth about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose for 2 decades stated, “Justice MK Mukherjee Commission (1999-2005) was not able to prove that Gumnami Baba was Netaji primarily because of negative handwriting and DNA reports from sarkari labs. In private talks with us and others, Late Justice Mukherjee felt these tests were fudged. We have now clear proof that the tests were fudged. Private handwriting experts have given positive reports. DNA experts have raised doubts about the veracity of Gumnami Baba report by CFSL. That is the reason CFSL is refusing to share the electropherogram in question.”

“If we get the electropherogram (data chart), we will show it to independent experts, including foreigners who have no axe to grind. Remember we got a report from an American handwriting expert? CFSL’s refusal to share this data chart is obstructing our path,” added Anuj Dhar.

A social media user wrote, “Revealing Gumnami Baba/ Bhagwanji’s DNA Electropherogram will affect foreign relations of India, can incite violence within the country is indeed a reply which needs to be pondered upon. And do you think ‘any Baba’ has so much power as to affect foreign relations and the fact that the news of his being alive was kept hidden by the powers of the day, would incite violence across the country!!! He was Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose staying anonymously in UP from 1950s- 1980s.”

By the way, today is 21st October, the anniversary of the formation of the Azad Hind Government, India’s ‘declaration of independence’ by Netaji. Enjoy the independence and the silence!
