রোটারি ক্লাবের বিশ্ব প্রবীণ দিবস পালন
Rotary Club observed World Senior Citizen’s Day

বিশ্ব প্রবীণ দিবসে আজ শিলচর রোটারি ক্লাব তিন প্রবীণ ব্যক্তিত্বকে সংবর্ধনা জানায়। প্রাক্তন কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী কবীন্দ্র পুরকায়স্থকে রোটারিয়ানরা তাঁর নতুনপট্টিস্থিত বাড়িতে গিয়ে সম্মান জানান। ড. সৌরীন্দ্রকুমার ভট্টাচার্য ও ড. অমলেন্দু ভট্টাচার্যকে বঙ্গভবনে এক সংক্ষিপ্ত অনুষ্ঠানে সংবর্ধনা জ্ঞাপন করা হয়। দুই জায়গাতেই রোটারিয়ানদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন প্রাক্তন রোটারি গভর্নর অরিজিত এন্দ, সভাপতি ডা. কিরণময় দাস, তৈমুর রাজা চৌধুরী, এসবি দত্ত, বেণুলাল বর্মণ, সুরমিতা পোদ্দার, ফকরুল আলম মজুমদার, ড. বিভাসরঞ্জন চৌধুরী প্রমুখ।

তাঁরা বলেন, তিনজনই প্রবীণ হয়েও এখনও সমাজের কাজে সক্রিয় রয়েছেন। তাঁদের উপদেশ-পরামর্শ প্রতিটি মুহুর্তে সমাজের কাজে আসছে। তাঁরা তাঁর সুস্বাস্থ্য ও দীর্ঘ জীবন কামনা করেন।

একইভাবে, হাইলাকান্দি রোটারি ক্লাবও দিবসটি উদযাপন করে। তাঁরা বিজয়কৃষ্ণ ধর, রঞ্জিত বিশ্বাস ও বাদল দে-কে সম্মান জানান।

Rotary Club of Silchar observed Senior Citizen’s Day on Tuesday.  To commemorate this day, they felicitated three senior citizens of the town. The Rotarians went to the house of former Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha to felicitate him. Dr. Sourindra Kumar Bhattacharjee and Dr. Amalendu Bhattacharjee were felicitated at Banga Bhawan. A brief ceremony was convened in this regard at Banga Bhawan.

The Rotarians who were present in both the places were its former District Governor Arijit Endow, present President Dr. Kiranmoy Das, Taimur Raja Choudhury, S.B. Dutta, Benu Lal Barman, Suramita Poddar, Fakrul Alom Majumdar, Dr. Bibhas Ranjan Choudhury and others.

Speaking during the occasion, the Rotarians expressed the view that inspite of being senior citizens, all three of them are involved in various social activities. Society also benefits from the advice which they give from time to time. They wished their good health and long life.

Rotary Club of Hailakandi felicitated three senior citizens of the town, namely, Bijoy Krisna Dhar, Ranjit Biswas and Badal Dey.
