Water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat decreasing, flowing at 21.28 mt at 1 PM on Friday

May 20: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak started to rise. However,  after around 15 hours of remaining steady, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was gradually decreasing.The water level of river Barak here gradually started to decrease by 1 cm per hour from 9 AM on Friday.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 1 PM on Friday was flowing much above the danger level and was recorded at 21.28 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level is decreasing by 1 cm per hour.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
