Released in the year 2000 (October 27), ‘Mohabbatein’ remains a classic in Hindi cinema, enchanting audiences with its timeless tale of love, rebellion, and the clash between tradition and modernity. Directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by the great Yash Chopra featuring an ensemble cast led by Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aishwarya Rai, the film continues to captivate viewers with its unforgettable characters and dialogues and melodious soundtrack.

Set in a prestigious all-boys Gurukul (traditional Indian residential school), the film revolves around Narayan Shankar (Amitabh Bachchan), the strict and authoritarian headmaster who firmly believes in discipline and tradition. His ideologies are challenged when Raj Aryan Malhotra (Shah Rukh Khan) enters the Gurukul as a music teacher. Raj encourages the students to follow their hearts and pursue their passions, directly opposing Narayan Shankar’s ideologies. Raj falls in love with Mehga (Aishwarya), daughter of Narayan Shankar. Since her father disapproves their love, she commits suicide. A broken but determined Raj enters the Gurukul and takes it by storm.
