Review meeting of Rural Development Programmes held at Silchar

February 11: A review meeting on ‘All Rural Development Programmes of Panchayat and Rural Development Department” under Cachar district was held on Mondat at District Library auditorium. The meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri was attended by Block Development Officers and other concerned officials under the District Rural Development Agency.

Laya Madduri took a tough stance regarding execution of schemes for Panchayat and Rural Development in the district. While speaking during the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner made it clear that the officials must accomplish the tasks assigned and that no lapse or negligence in rendering public services shall be entertained. Urging the officials to work as a team, DC Madduri said that an acceleration in executing various schemes shall help Cachar district to move ahead on the path of development.

Addressing the officials, L. Madduri laid particular emphasis on the proper execution and implementtion od PMAGY, MGNREGA, NRLM schemes in the district and gave instructions to the CEO and Deputy CEO of Cachar Zila Parishad to maintain close vigil and monitor the proceedings.

The Deputy Commissioner further urged upon the functionaries to maintain liaison with banks in implementing various schemes in rural areas. She also gave a patient hearing to the problems raised by the officials in the gathering and suggested that working together shall remove the hurdles that lay on the way in such a large district.
