Retd head teacher Joyasree (Roy) Deb passes away

way2barak, Jan.3: Joyasree (Roy) Deb, a retired Head Teacher of Assam Railway School, Pan Bazar, Guwahati breathed her last at 75 years of age on Tuesday evening. A permanent resident of Lachit Nagar, Guwahati, Smt Joyasree Roy Deb was presently residing at Devi Prasad Bhawan , Malugram , Silchar.

She was the wife of well known retired Director of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Assam, Late Manoj Kumar Deb. Joyasree (Roy) Deb is survived by her son Siddhartha Deb, daughter noted physician Dr. Tanushree Deb Gupta, son-in-law (noted entrepreneur) Rudra Narayan Gupta and a host of kith and kin.

Since last few months, she was suffering serious structural cardiac ailments with triple vessel coronary artery disease. The situation aggravated post her hip replacement which took place in month of June 2022. She was under the care of her physician daughter, the well known medicine & critical care specialist Dr Tanushree Deb Gupta.

For more sophisticated intervention Dr Tanushree Deb Gupta decided to get her coronary angioplasty done using advanced echmo like implants (impella support) at AMRI Hospital Kolkata under Dr P K Hazra. While the process failed during the 1st phase of the intervention and patient started deteriorating hemodynamically and finally succumbed at 5.10 pm on 3 January, 2023.

The deceased Joyasree (Roy) Deb was very hardworking, dedicated teacher and empowered woman who led a very humble life. Her last rituals were done at Kolkata in presence of her family and well wishers. Many people from Silchar expressed condolences and prayers to the bereaved family.
