Rationalising teacher transfer process in online mode via a transfer portal gets Cabinet approval

May 23: In the weekly Assam Cabinet on 23 May, several key decisions related to new framework for UG/PG courses, speed limits on various roads, setting up Assam Millet Mission, rationalising teacher transfer process, recruitment to technical institutes, among others were taken. The Cabinet Meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. 

Rationalising teacher transfer process:

• Approval to ‘The Assam Elementary and Secondary School Teachers’ (Regulation of Posting and Transfer) Rules, 2022 to rationalise teacher transfer process.
• This will facilitate intra-district, inter-district and mutual transfers of Elementary, Secondary, SSA teachers as well as teachers in Govt educational institutions in online mode via a transfer portal.
