Ramesh Kumar Assumes Charge as Additional General Manager of NF Railway

way2barak, June 3: Ramesh Kumar, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), has assumed charge as the Additional General Manager (AGM) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on 1st June, 2026.

Shri Kumar is a Civil Engineering graduate from Govind Ballabh Pant University, Nainital and belongs to the 1991 batch of IRSE. He joined Indian Railways in November, 1992 and possesses more than three decades of rich and diverse experience in railway infrastructure development, construction, maintenance and project management.

During his distinguished career, Shri Kumar has held several important assignments in South Eastern Railway, Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA), Railway Board and Northeast Frontier Railway. He served in various capacities including Assistant Engineer and Divisional Engineer in South Eastern Railway, Deputy Chief Engineer for the Tamluk-Digha New Line Project in West Bengal, Joint General Manager in Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA) and Director (Land & Amenities) in Railway Board.

Prior to assuming charge as AGM of NFR, Shri Kumar was working as Chief Project Director/Station Development, Northeast Frontier Railway, where he was associated with various station redevelopment and Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) projects. He has extensive experience in station redevelopment, new line construction, land management and arbitration matters. He also served as Chief Engineer/Construction for the Dimapur-Kohima New Line Project and has worked in key positions related to construction and infrastructure development in the ghat sections of Chakradharpur Division as well as other important infrastructure projects across Indian Railways.

The officers and staff of Northeast Frontier Railway have extended a warm welcome to Shri Ramesh Kumar and conveyed their best wishes for a successful tenure as Additional General Manager of the zone.
