Ramanuj Gupta Jr. College flies high its flag of excellence in HS Final 2020

June 25: Ramanuj Gupta Junior College (RGJC) since its very inception has carved a niche for itself in the academic coterie of not only Barak Valley but in the state of Assam as a whole. This year too, the students of RGJC has earned laurels by outshining in all the three streams of arts, science and commerce. Binita Saha of Ramanuj has bagged the 3rd position in HS Commerce, while Aditya Dutta secured the 9th rank in the same stream.

Though none could secure any position in the science stream, yet the overall result was superb. A total of 387 students appeared in HS Science from RGJC, out of which, 371 came out successful. The pass percentage was 95.9. A total of 288 students got 1st division, 80 2nd division and 03 3rd division. Swaapnaneel Bhatacharjee & Parag Dey of the college got the state highest marks in Physics (99%). 113 students secured star marks (75% & above). 590 letters were secured by the students of science stream. The following is the break-up of the letter marks secured in science:

  • English: 97
  • Alt. English: 190
  • Physics: 93
  • Chemistry: 45
  • Mathematics: 34
  • Biology: 128
  • Statistics: 01
  • Computer Science: 01

In Commerce, a total of 130 students appeared, out of which 129 of them passed. The pass percentage is 99.23. A total of 83 students got 1st division, 40 2nd division and 06 3rd division. 28 students secured star marks (75% & above). Binita Saha stood 3rd by securing 466 marks out of 500, whereas, Adiyta Dutta bagged the 9th rank by securing 452 out of 500. Both Binita and Aditya got state highest in Business Studies (98%). 162 letters were secured by the students of commerce stream. The following is the break-up of the letter marks secured in Commerce:

  • English: 31
  • Alt. English: 51
  • MIL Bengali: 01
  • Accountancy: 15
  • Business Studies: 27
  • Economics: 34
  • Commercial Maths & Stats: 03

In Arts, a total of 88 students appeared, out of which 83 of them passed. The pass percentage is 94.3. A total of 44 students got 1st division, 29 2nd division and 10 3rd division. 22 students secured star marks (75% & above). Prerana Singh of the college got the state highest marks in Statistics (98%).  102 letters were secured by the students of arts stream. The following is the break-up of the letter marks secured in Commerce:

  • English: 24
  • Alt. English: 21
  • MIL Bengali: 01
  • Political Science: 11
  • Economics: 17
  • Logic & Philosophy: 12
  • Adv. Bengali: 04
  • History: 02
  • Statistics: 06
  • Mathematics: 04

Speaking with newsmen, Rudra Narayan Gupta, President of Ramanuj Gupta Trust which runs the Ramanuj Gupta College said, “We are indeed elated by the performance of our students. We expected position in science stream also, however, we have missed that. I take this opportunity to thank all our dear students for their success. My sincere thanks are due to the Director, Administrative Officer, Principal, teachers and staff of the college. I also thank the parents and guardians for depositing their trust on us. I have firm hope and belief in the optimism of the teachers of our college and I am certain that the coming years will be much more better.”
