Rajasthan bans sale & bursting of firecrackers to protect health of Covid patients

Nov. 2: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday  said he had issued directions to ban the sale of firecrackers and restrict their use to protect COVID-19 patients and the public from their ill-effects. “In order to protect the health of COVID-19 infected patients and general public due to poisonous smoke emanating from firecrackers, strict action has been taken to prohibit the sale of firecrackers in the state and restrict the movement of vehicles without fitness certificate,” Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted. Instructions have been given to ban the temporary license for the sale of firecrackers and that fireworks should also be stopped during wedding & other functions.

“Rajasthan will be the 1st state in the country to enact a law to make wearing of masks mandatory for protection against corona, as the mask is the vaccine to protect against corona and only this will protect…” This was tweeted by Rajasthan Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday. If the Bill gets the nod in the state assembly then Rajasthan will become the first state in the country to enact a law for making masks mandatory.

The Rajasthan Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Bill, 2020 was introduced by state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal on 31/10/2020. In this Rajasthan Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Bill, 2020, a new clause in the Section 4 of the Rajasthan Epidemic Diseases Act, 2020 has been inserted, which proposes to prohibit the movement of people at public places without properly covering mouth and nose with a face mask or cover.
