State govt to announce 1st phase of school, college provincialisation on 20 August

August 14: The first phase of provincialiaation of schools and colleges will be announced by Assam government on 20 August instead of 15 August.Taking to his twitter handle, State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Instead 15th August, we will notify the first phase of school /college provincialisation on 20th August 2020.”

It had been earlier announced that with effect from January 1, 2020, the Assam Government shall provincialize 197 High School, 9 Higher Secondary and 149 Junior College or Senior Secondary under the Directorate of Secondary Education. The Minister at that time informed that the first list of such schools would be announced on August 15.
