Democracy has won in Bihar with the blessings of the people, tweets PM Modi
Nov. 10: Minutes after Home Minister Amit Shah declared victory in Bihar for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), despite counting for 50 seats still taking place, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came up with a series of tweets. In his first remark on the election results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said people of Bihar have given their ‘decisive decision for development’.

“Bihar has taught the world the first lesson of democracy. Today Bihar has told the world again how democracy is strengthened. A record number of poor, deprived and women of Bihar also voted and today have also given their decisive decision for development,” PM Modi tweeted. He added that the youth made it clear that this new decade will be for Bihar. “I again assure every citizen of Bihar that for the balanced development of every person, every region, we will continue to work with full dedication,” Modi tweeted.
The voting in Bihar was held for 243 seats of Bihar legislative Assembly in three phases, ending on November 7. To form the new government, a winning combination would require 122 seats. In post-midnight data analysis, the ruling NDA had a clear lead over the Mahagathbandhan. As per the Election Commission website, the BJP has won 61 seats and is leading on 12 seats. As per the Election Commission, results of 218 seats out of 243 have been declared so far.
