PM Modi to campaign at Silchar on 7 April: Ram Madhav

April 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will campaign at Silchar for party candidates in the Barak Valley. The information of PM Modi’s visit to Assam was revealed by the General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and in-charge of Northeastern states Ram Madhav. While addressing the media at Guwahati on Monday, Ram Madhav reiterated that the BJP will be able to win 10 seats in Assam out of a total of 14 seats in the state during the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

It needs mention here that in Silchar Lok Sabha constituency, the BJP has fielded Rajdeep Roy, son of former BJP MLA Late Bimalangshu Roy who will take on Indian National Congress’ sitting MP and All India Mahila Congress President Sushmita Dev, the daughter of former Union Minister Late Santosh Mohan Dev. On the other hand, in Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency, the BJP has fielded Kripa Nath Malla, who is the sitting BJP MLA of the Ratabari Assembly constituency.

Meanwhile, PM Modi recently visited Assam and campaigned for party candidates at Moran in Dibrugarh district and Gohpur in Biswanath district of Assam ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. Modi is also scheduled to campaign for party candidates in Tripura on 7 April, 2019 after addressing a rally at Silchar.
