With 9 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 37 on 2 August
Active cases 227 in Cachar; 27 discharged on Monday
Aug 2: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Monday at 11.20 PM. As per the latest data, 09 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 37 persons were found positive in the district on 2 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 28 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 227. This was informed by District Media Expert on Monday night. Also, 27 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Sunday, 26 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 9,386 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 27 persons were found positive, whereas 10 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,114 whereas during this phase, 18,703 patients were discharged.

74 patients are in home isolation.
The Covid-19 situation is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 1 August to 5 PM on 2 August) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday evening. The deceased was identified as:
- Rashik Uddin Barbhuiya (50) from Kashipur in Cachar district took admission at SMCH on 29 July. The patient, however, breathed his last at 5.30 AM on 2 August.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 2 August, there were 57 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 30 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 27 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 4 patients were put under ventilator support and 38 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 13 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 13 of them were discharged.
