Out of 88 +ve cases on Wednesday, 11 are doctors & health workers৮৮-র তালিকায় চিকিৎসক-স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীই ১১ জন
July 22: After 159 persons tested positive on Tuesday in Cachar, the numbers decreased somewhat on Wednesday. A total of 88 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Cachar district on Wednesday. This was disclosed during the night by District Media Expert Suman Choudhury. It was also learnt that one doctor and a few staff of SM Dev Civil Hospital tested positive on Wednesday. Surprisingly, the first bulletin in this regard was released at 10.09 PM on Wednesday. Further, out of the 88 persons detected positive in Cachar on Wednesday, particulars of only 51 of them were provided.
As per the 1st slot, 5 persons tested positive on Wednesday. All 5 of them are from Assam Rifles, Silchar. They are asymptomatic but got contaminated though direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. Their swab samples were collected on 19 July and their reports came on 22 July.
The 2nd slot on Wednesday contained particulars of 14 new COVID-19 positive cases. Out of the 14 new cases, 06 of them are from SM Dev Civil Hospital (SMDCH), Silchar including Dr. Juri Sharma (46). The swab samples of these 6 health workers including one doctor was collected on 21 July and their report came on 22 July. They are all asymptomatic. Apart from Dr. Sharma, one was a duty staff in COVID-19 Ward at civil hospital; while the rest 4 staff & family members of SMDCH).
Apart from them, 6 air passengers who came from Bangalore on 19 July also were detected as corona positive on Wednesday. Out of the 6, four of them are from Bhaga Bazar, one from Dakkhin Dholai and another from Panibhora in Dholai. All of them are asymptomatic.
The 3rd slot on Wednesday contained particulars of 28 persons who tested positive on 22 July. Out of them, two persons are from Mediland Hospital in Silchar, who came in direct contact with a high risk lab confirmed case. Their swab sample was collected on 19 July and the reports came on 22 July. Both of them are asymptomatic. Another 3 persons from the same family were detected positive who are residents of Vivekananda Road, Silchar. They also came in contact with lab confirmed case. All three of them are symptomatic. Two of these three were senior citizens.
Another two persons were detected positive from Nurses Hostel at SMCH, 09 from Assam Rifles, Silchar. 03 from Sonai, 1 from MES Colony, 2 from Neigram in Sonabarighat, 01 from Borobauri at Kachudaram, 01 from BSF Dolcherra, 01 from Uttar Krishnapur, 01 each from Kalain CHC & Borkhola Tea Estate.
Dr. Hari S (28) was also tested positive on Wednesday. He is from Old PG Hostel, SMCH. He also came in direct contact with lab confirmed case. Another person, a 20-year-old male was detected positive on Wednesday and was symptomatic. A 29-year-old man Subhasnagar, Silchar was also detected as COVID-19 positive. He is also symptomatic.
Apart from them, 4 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive bymeans of Rapid Antigen Test on Wednesday. Out of them is cardiologist Dr. P.C. Sharma (58), Dulal Chandra Dey (51) from Sonai Road, Anuradha Shukla (41) from Meherpur and Morshing Pohleng (40) from Khashiya Punji in Cachar.
