Only highly symptomatic patients to be treated in medical college hospitals in Assam

May 31: A 3-level model has been adopted by Assam government in connection with the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the state. As per this 3-level model, only the highly symptomatic patients of COVID-19 will now be treated in medical college hospitals of Assam. The second category of patients, that is, the mild symptomatic patients will be treated in district level hospitals. Finally, those patients who are asymptomatic will be treated in village level model hospitals.

The state government has taken in hand the plan to build 90 new model hospitals across the state. However, as of now, 50 such model hospitals will be build. This was informed by state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing on Sunday.
