One more active COVID case in Hailakandi, taking tally to six

April 7: One active case has been detected in the district here on Wednesday, taking the toll tally to six.
All the six COVID patients are undergoing treatment at the SK Roy Civil Hospital. Nobin Sunapur under Algapur revenue circle has been declared a containment zone. All activities inside the containment zone have been strictly prohibited barring essential services.

The administration has decided to carry out random testing at market places, bus stands and pharmacies. Patients at the OPDs will have to undergo Rapid Antigen Test. The administration has urged the people to wear masks, maintain social distancing and wash hands with soap and water in view of some recent cases detected in the district and spurt in COVID cases in some states of the country.

Deputy Commissioner, Megh Nidhi Dahal reviewed the situation with health officials and functionaries at his office conference hall here on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the administration has asked persons above 45 years to undergo vaccination free of cost at the district hospital and other hospitals across the district.
