One job per family- promises Congress, if voted to power in Assam

Jan. 2: With the Assembly polls ringing the bell around, Congress in Assam came out in the open with a slew of promises, if it is voted to power. Congress offered assurance of providing atleast one job per family in the state apart from promising to give Rs 7,500 per month to every BPL family. It also assured to free electricity upto 120 units. However, all these lucrative benefits will be given, provided Congress is voted to power. This was stated by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Ripun Bora on 1 January. Waiving of loans of farmers was also on the agenda of the grand old party.

Ripun Bora appeared to be least bothered by those who deserted the party and joined the BJP. He said that the Congress has already found out parallel leaders and these dedicated group will be provided the ticket during the forthcoming Assembly polls.
