NYKS organises Youth Parliament at Paloicherra

Feb.14: A Block Level Neighborhood Youth Parliament was held in South Hailakandi here on Saturday.
Organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Hailakandi in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Samaj Unnayan Sanstha at Paloicherra Community Hall, as many as 85 participants from 16 youth clubs participated at the Youth Parliament.

Officials from Public Health Engineering Department, Saksham, Childline and PRI representatives apprised the youth in detail about ‘catch the rain’ campaign on rainwater harvesting, awareness on COVID-19 vaccination, role of three-tier panchayati raj in strengthening the edifice of democracy, role of youth in nation building and on voter awareness for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections. An oath was also administered to the youngsters on water conservation.

“The objective is to hear the voice of the youth who are the future of the country and are set to join various professions in coming years, including public services,” quipped District Youth Coordinator, NYKS, Kalpana Gangopadhyay.
