আসামে সফল হলে ত্রিপুরায় হবে এনআরসি : মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিপ্লব দেব
NRC to be implemented in Tripura, if it succeeds in Assam: Biplob Deb

৭ অক্টোবর : আসামে নাগরিকপঞ্জির সার্থক রূপায়ণ হলে ত্রিপুরায়ও তা করা হবে। ইন্ডিয়া টুডে কনক্লেভ ইস্ট ২০১৮ তে অংশ নিয়ে এ মন্তব্য করেন ত্রিপুরার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিপ্লব কুমার দেব। তিনি বলেন, আসামে এনআরসির পূর্ণাঙ্গ বাস্তবায়নের দিকে তাকিয়ে এখন গোটা দেশ। কেন্দ্র সরকার, সুপ্রিম কোর্ট, বিভিন্ন রাজনৈতিক দল, এমনকি দেশের সাধারণ মানুষও এনআরসির চূড়ান্ত তালিকা দেখার জন্য অপেক্ষায় রয়েছেন।

তিনি অবশ্য বলেন, আগে আসামে এনআরসি হয়ে যাক, তারপর সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া যাবে ত্রিপুরায় হবে কি না। তিনি এও বলেন, ত্রিপুরায় নাগরিকপঞ্জি তৈরি করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেবে কেন্দ্রীয় স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রক এবং কেন্দ্র সরকার। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী দেব বলেন, ‘যদি কেন্দ্র সরকার এনআরসি তৈরি করার ব্যাপারে কোনও আইন পাস করে, তবে আমরা অবশ্যই তা তৈরি করব।’

এদিকে, বৃহস্পতিবার ইন্ডিজেনাস ন্যাশনালিস্ট পর্টি অব ত্রিপুরার সভাপতি বিজয় কুমার রাংখলের নেতৃত্বে এক প্রতিনিধিদল কেন্দ্রীয় স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিংয়ের সঙ্গে দেখা করে রাজ্যে নাগরিকপঞ্জি তৈরি করার দাবি জানান। তবে একটি বিশেষ সূত্রে জানা গেছে, স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী এখনই ত্রিপুরায় এনআরসি তৈরি করার ব্যাপারে প্রতিনিধি দলটিকে কোনওও আশ্বাস দেননি।

প্রসঙ্গত, আসামে জাতীয় নাগরিকপঞ্জির চূড়ান্ত খসড়া গত ৩০ জুলাই প্রকাশিত হয়। এই তালিকা থেকে ৪০ লক্ষ ৭ হাজার ৭০৭ জনের নাম বাদ পড়েছে। আসামে এনআরসির জন্য আবেদন করেছিলেন ৩ কোটি ২৯ লক্ষ আবেদনকারী। কিন্তু তালিকায় ২ কোটি ৮০ লক্ষের নাম আসে। বর্তমানে এনআরসি চূড়ান্ত খসড়ায় বাদ পড়া নামগুলোর জন্য দাবি ও আপত্তির প্রক্রিয়া সুপ্রিম কোর্টের তত্ত্বাবধানে চলছে।

October 7: In the sidelines of the India Today Conclave East 2018, Biplob Kumar Deb, Chief Minister of Tripura said that National Register of Citizens (NRC) will be implemented in Tripura, provided if it is fully successful in Assam. He further said that all are waiting including the Union government, the Supreme Court, political parties and the people of the nation to see the final outcome of NRC, Assam. Mr.Deb stated that “Let it happen first in Assam and after that we will decide.”

Biplob Deb, however, said that the decision to implement the NRC will be taken by the Union Home Ministry and the central government. Mr Deb added, “If the Centre passes a law or act to implement NRC, I will go for it.”

Meanwhile, on Thursday, a delegation of Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura, led by its President Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl, met Home Minister Rajnath Singh demanding an exercise to update the NRC in the state. However, sources confirmed that the Home Minister gave no assurance to the delegation as regards the implementation of NRC in Tripura.

The final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam was released on 30 July, with names of 40, 07,707 persons excluded from the list. There were 3.29 crore applicants. It has included over 28 million individuals, thus giving them a pride of place as citizens, while excluding four million residents of the state. This final draft of the NRC in Assam emerged, provoking both passionate support and outrage. At present, the process of claims and objection is on under the supervision of the Supreme Court of India.
