Non-vaccinated people in Assam shall not be allowed entry in public places from 15 Jan
Jan. 7: In view of increasing COVID-19 cases, Government of Assam has issued an SOP containing guidelines for containment of the pandemic. Non-vaccinated people shall not be allowed entry in public spaces/ places (except hospitals) with effect from 15 January, 2022. People must carry a proof of being fully vaccinated. This was stated by Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing on Friday. He further stated that only fully vaccinated (double dose) persons will now be able to enter in public places and that too on production of final vaccination certificate.

The owners of such public/ private enterprises shall be responsible to ensure that the entrants are fully vaccinated by checking their vaccination status. Failure to do so shall attract penal action and a fine upto Rs.25,000 upon the premise owner. Any person not wearing face mask and/ or spitting in public places shall be fined to the tune of Rs.1000.
Shop owners shall ensure minimum six feet distance among customers and shall not allow more than 5 persons inside the shop at any time. In addition, shop owners should compulsorily keep sanitizers and hand wash in their shops. Shopkeepers and customers shall have to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Responsibility of maintenance of social distancing will be on the shop owner and failure to do so will be viewed very seriously and may entail summary closure of defaulting shops.
