No new SOP for Saraswati Puja, celebrate the festival obeying Covid norms: Keshab Mahanta

Jan. 31: The state government will not issue any separate guidelines for celebration of Saraswati Puja this year. However, the puja will have to be celebrated by following the Covid appropriate behaviour. This was stated by State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on Sunday, while speaking with the media at Bokakhat.

Earlier, there were apprehension among the people that the state government may issue new guidelines for celebration of Saraswati Puja as it had done in the previous year. However, the health minister has cleared the air in this regard. He further stated the state government will in all probability issue new Covid SOP on 1 February, but it will not contain any separate guidelines for Saraswati Puja celebrations. But he cautioned that the celebrations ought to be done by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing so that there is no further spread of the virus.
