২ দিনের শিশুকে পিঁপড়ে ভরা ঝোপঝাড়ে, কান্না শুনে উদ্ধার

২৭ অক্টোবর : এই পৃথিবীতে মানুষই অনেক সময় অমানুষের মতো আচরণ করে। এমনই এক অমানবিক ঘটনার সাক্ষী হল মানব সমাজ। দু’দিনের একটি কন্যাশিশুকে ফেলে দেওয়া হল পিঁপড়ে ভরা এক ঝোপঝাড়ে। ফেলে দেওয়া এই শিশুটির পুরো শরীর পিঁপড়ের কামড়ে লাল হয়ে উঠেছিল। ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে আগরতলা থেকে মাত্র ৩০ কিলোমিটার দূরে থাকা সিপাহীজলা জেলার অমরেন্দ্রনগরে।

শুক্রবার বুদ্ধলক্ষ্মী দেববর্মা নামের জনৈক গ্রামবাসী একটি ঝোপের ভেতর থেকে একটি শিশুর কান্না শুনতে পান। তিনি শিশুটিকে দেখার পরই খবর পাঠান বিশ্রামগঞ্জ থানায়। সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই ওসি পান্নালাল সাহা পুলিশ বাহিনী নিয়ে ছুটে আসেন ঘটনাস্থলে এবং ঝোপঝাড় সরিয়ে শিশুটিকে উদ্ধার করেন। গত সন্ধ্যায় উদ্ধারের পর শিশুটিকে পার্শ্ববর্তী বিশ্রামগঞ্জ থানায় নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসার পর হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ পরে শিশুটিকে আগরতলার ইন্দিরা গান্ধী মেমোরিয়াল (আইজিএম) হাসপাতালে পাঠিয়ে দেন।

বর্তমানে শিশুটি আইজিএম হাসপাতালের ইনটেনসিভ কেয়ার ইউনিটে রয়েছে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, এ ঘটনায় এ পর্যন্ত কাউকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়নি। তবে তদন্ত জারি রয়েছে। চাইল্ড লাইন ইন্ডিয়ার সেন্ট্রাল কো–অর্ডিনেটর বিপুল কান্তি মজুমদার জানিয়েছেন, শিশুটির শারীরিক অবস্থা বর্তমানে স্থিতিশীল। হাসপাতালের নিও নাটাল ইন্টেনসিভ কেয়ার ইউনিট জানিয়েছে, ‘শিশুটি মারাত্মকভাবে সংক্রমণের শিকার হয়েছে। বিশেষ করে তার মুখ ও চোখে পিঁপড়ে কামড় দিয়েছে সব থেকে বেশি।‘

October 27: Human beings perhaps are the most ‘inhuman’ beings in the animal kingdom. In a heart rendering incidence, a two-day old baby girl was dumped in a bush infested with ants. The entire body of the abandoned baby became red due to innumerable ant bites. The incident occurred at a place called Amarendranagar in Sipahijala district, which is 30 kms away from the state capital of Agartala.

On Friday, a villager, identified as Bodholokkhi Debbarma, heard the cry of a baby from inside a bush and she immediately informed Bishramganja Police Station. Police forces led by the OC Pannalal Saha at once reached the spot and recovered the baby from the bush. They took the baby to the nearby Bishramganja hospital last evening and the hospital authority later shifted her to Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) hospital at Agartala after preliminary treatment.

At present, the baby is being treated in Intensive Care Unit of the IGM hospital. Police informed that no arrest was made so far and an investigation is on. Bipul Kanti Majumder, Central Coordinator of Childline India, said, “Her condition is stable. The hospital’s neo-natal intensive care unit informed that the baby is suffering from infection and her face, including her eyes, were affected due to ant bites”.
