Nitin Gadkari writes to Dr Rajdeep Roy; LOA issued for completion of remaining part of Mahasadak
April 7: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) issued the Letter of Award for the balance work of Construction of 4- Lane road from Km 140+700 to Km 190+587 (Design chainage Km 0.000 to Km 49.230) on Narimbanglo – Jatinga Junction- Harangajao Section of NH-54 (New NH-27EW) in the State of Assam under Bharatmala Pariyojana on Hybrid Annuity Mode. It needs mention here that Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy wrote to Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways seeking his intervention into the completion of this project.
Informing about the decision of his ministry to Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy, Nitin Gadkari on 6 April, 2022 wrote, “Please refer to your letter dated 21.12.2021 regarding construction of 4-laning road from Narimbanglo – Harangajao section. I am happy to inform you that the construction of 4-laning road from km 140.700 to km 164.080 (Narimbanglo – Jatinga section) and from km 165.220 to km 190.587 (Jatinga Junction – Harangajao section) of NH-54 in the State of Assam under Bharatmala Pariyojana on HAM has been approved and LOA have been signed on 10.03.2022. The work will be started shortly. I thank you for your kind cooperation in my commitment to build world class infrastructure for our nation.”

Expressing his views, Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy said, “I have received a letter from Nitin Gadkari ji today in response to my letter dt 21.12.2021 letting me know that the LoA has been issued on 10.3.2022 for construction of 4-lane between Harangajao to Narimbunglo via Jatinga ( 50 km approx ) under NHAI at an estimated cost of 1674 crore. This is a major forward development for the completion of the last remaining part of the MAHASADAK (4-lane Expressway) connecting Silchar to Guwahati. I wholeheartedly thank Nitin ji for his visionary leadership in developing infrastructure in this land-locked Barak Valley.”
“I also handed him over a list of 6-Railway crossings in my #Silchar constituency over National and State Highways for conversion into ROB’s to which he responded very positively and to my satisfaction,” added MP Roy.
