NIT and AUS preparing for North East Y20 Conclave on 25-28 August

way2barak, July 26 : North East Y20 Conclave will be organized jointly by National Institute of Technology, Silchar (NITS) and Assam University Silchar (AUS) in both the campuses during 25-28 August 2023.


The poster launch program of the above event was done in the Guest House of NIT Silchar on 25th July in presence of Vice Chancellor, AUS Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant and Director, NITS, Prof. Dilip Kumar Baidya besides a host of other dignitaries from both the institutions. The program is intended to create awareness and a sense of pride amongst the students & the youths about India’s G-20 Presidency and the celebration of 3rd anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This Historic Event is expected to witness the presence of esteemed Cabinet Ministers including Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, Government of India, Shri Rajeev Chandrashekhar MoS, Electronics and IT, Government of India etc in the inaugural ceremony whereas we are expecting Hon’ble DONER Minister, Govt. of India and Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, Hon’ble Chief Minister Assam.

The North East Y20 Conclave will serve as a platform to engage and empower the young minds of the region, providing them with opportunities to exchange ideas, collaborate, and address common challenges.
The Director of NIT Silchar, Prof. Dilip Kumar Baidya expressed his excitement about the North East Y20 Conclave and stated “This Mega Event has the potential to highlight the brand North East India as India is celebrating her Maiden G20 Presidency which coincides with the 3rd Anniversary for implementation of National Education Policy.” They further declared the participation of around 100 Delegates from 18 Central Funded Institutes from the entire North-East Region.
The Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, also applauded the Conclave and stated “ Two Premier Institutions of Barak Valley, Assam University and NIT SILCHAR are proud to announce the Upcoming North East Y20 Conclave to be held from 25th – 28th August , 2023. We all know this is India’s first G20 Presidency with a motto One Earth, One Family , One Future of which Y20 India comes as an important sequence of G20. Secondly India is a Country whose Majority Population is Young , which makes the conduction of Y20 Conclave important and necessary as the whole world is looking up to us”. He further added and explained about the different Y20 Themes and emphasised on spreading the democratic values on grassroot level along with climate change and management as Barak Valley is prone to floods every year.

Dr. K L Baishnab, Registrar, NIT Silchar, Prof. Sudipta Roy & Dr. Debomalya Ghosh of Assam University and Prof. Parthasarathi Choudhury, Prof. Asim Roy, other faculty members and officers along with the student Representative of THINK INDIA were also present.
The Conclave will feature a series of panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions led by eminent personalities, educators, and thought leaders from various fields. The topics of discussion will revolve around the themes of education, entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development, among others.
The event will also serve as a celebration of the three-year anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This transformative policy has laid the foundation for a more inclusive, holistic, and forward-looking education system in India. By commemorating this milestone, the North East Y20 Conclave acknowledges the positive impact of NEP 2020 on the educational landscape of the nation.
The organizers invited all enthusiastic youth, educators, and stakeholders from across the North East to participate actively in the North East Y20 Conclave and make it a resounding success. This event promises to be a stepping stone in creating a brighter and more prosperous future for the region.
