Night curfew from 9 PM to 5 AM in Cachar till 30 June

June 1: In an order issued by Kumar Sanjay Krishna, Chief Secretary, Assam on 1 June, it was stated that “Movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 9.00 pm to 5.00 am throughout the State, except for essential activities. Local authorities shall issue orders, in the entire area of their jurisdiction, under appropriate provisions of law. such as under Section 144 of CrPC, and ensure strict compliance.”

In this connection, Keerthi Jalli, District Magistrate of Cachar has issued a notification wherein she has stated that in order to contain the further spread of COVID-19 and to save the people from the threat of coronavirus, ‘movement of people shall remain strictly prohibited between 9.00 pm to 5.00 am throughout the district except for essential activities.” The order issued under Section 144 shall remain in force till 30 June. During this phase, night curfew shall remain in force from 9 PM to 5 AM.
