NFSA cards to beneficiaries distributed in Cachar

way2barak, Jan 17: The Assam government is ahead with its  commitment for providing essential support to the needy people and  ensuring all access to subsidized food grains and other benefits under the Public Distribution System (PDS) .

As a part of state-wide NFSA distribution program ,a program on distribution of ration cards was ceremonially launched by the minister for Excise, Transport & Fisheries, Parimal Suklabaidya in  presence of silchar MP,Dr Rajdeep Roy , district commissioner, Rohan Kumar Jha and other dignitaries at an event organised by the cachar administration at P.W.D ground,Dholai of Cachar district on Tuesday.
It is to be mentioned that the distribution of new ration cards to more than 7,672 beneficiaries of 27 Gaon Panchayats of Dholai constituency were handed over under the State Food Protection Act.
 A total of 42, 85, 745 new ration card beneficiaries are being included in the entire state and on this occasion Minister Parimal Suklabaidya officially handed over ration cards to 10 beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering , minister Parimal Suklabadya highlighted the various developmental schemes provided by the central as well as state government and mentioned that the names of 7,672 families have been newly included in the ration card by covering 29,799 people under the Dholai constituency.
 Minister Suklabaidya also underscored  the developmental activities that have been started in the entire state under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The minister said that the initiatives taken by the Assam govt  provides food security and it also comes with the benefit of Ayushman card which will offer a added advantage to the  beneficiaries.
He sought everyone’s cooperation for the betterment of the society and to work hand in hand with the government for successful implementation of the government schemes and developmental activities.
Speaking on the occasion,Silchar MP,Dr Rajdeep Roy also emphasized  the various developmental schemes both at the central and state levels aimed at addressing the needs of the economically disadvantaged and marginalized sections of the society covering a wide range of areas, including education, healthcare, employment, housing and social welfare.
Earlier,Cachar DC , Rohan Kumar Jha,BJP , District president,Bimalendu Roy also spoke on the occasion.
Later, a program on road safety was also organised at the same venue where
 Minister Parimal Suklabaidya also made the people aware of the road safety guidelines.
As part of the road safety month, the minister took the initiative to make people aware through bike rally.
Minister Parimal Suklabaidya also paid tribute to the 3296 people who lost their lives in road accidents at a public meeting organized in Dholai.  .
 He said that he has made people aware of the road safety public movement in 33 districts including 11 assembly constituencies of the state through bike rally. In this movement which started from last November 19, many people were in tears during the journey of 4307 km. The government takes such awareness steps every year to prevent road accidents.
The minister also advised bike riders to wear helmets to avoid road accidents, vehicle drivers to use seat belts, refrain from driving while intoxicated, and always control the speed to protect riders well as others.
The program was also attended by Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy and District Commissioner ,Rohan Kumar Jhan along with various officials of the district administration of Cachar, BJP District President Bimalendu Roy, Gaon Panchayat President Bhushan Pal, and others.
