Till now 3597 persons entered Assam via Srirampur & Sagolia check gates

May 12: Till now, 3225 people entered Assam through Srirampur check gate and 342 came through Sagolia inter-state check gate. That means, a total of 3597 people have entered Assam from other states. These are not outsiders but the residents of Assam who were stuck in various states due to lockdown. The information was shared by State Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press briefing in Guwahati on Tuesday.

The minister informed that, another 3705 persons have entered Assam from other North Eastern states. These persons have been tested. Except one, all were found negative. So now, gradually they will be sent for home quarantine from institutional quarantine centres.

He also stated that from now onwards, when any person will be referred for home quarantine, then his/her entire house (including all family members) will be quarantined. The same rules will be applicable for those residing in flats. In such cases, the entire family of flat will be quarantined. The flat committee will have to provide essential commodities to that family, of course on payment basis.

But the minister also categorically stated that those persons coming to Assam from red zones will be also kept for strict quarantine. When such persons will be sent for home quarantine, then that home will be declared as a containment zone.
