‘MY DAYS WITH THE NATIONAL CADET CORPS ( NCC )’, containing 104 pages excluding Preface and Prologue, nicely written by a very Well Thought Out Academician Dr. Mrinal Kanti Bhattacharya , Ex Principal, Nabin Chandra College, Badarpur and Karimganj College, Karimganj who served NCC as an Associate NCC Officer for long 19 years and 7 more years as direct association as an integral part of this national organisation. The Book consists of 17 chapters including References listed in the last chapter. This Book of Dr. Bhattacharya was published by Kripa-Drishti Publications, Pune. I do believe that every single page of this book will delight the readers and help them to know many unknown exciting facts. It is also to be mentioned here that as a successful teacher in the department of Botany and Bio Technology , Karimganj College, Karimganj , Assam, he published more than 70 Research Papers in different National and International Journals including 15 Book Chapters, authored three Books and many more academic activities.
The author nicely narrated the organisation NCC including some NCC activities where the author took part in numberless times. The author took part in different Trekking Programmes including Refresher Courses which are beautifully expressed in this book to create awareness among the young students of the country. This NCC provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral Values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens.
During my 20 years of service as an Associate NCC Officer out of long 38 years of service as a teaching faculty in the department of Statistics in Srikishan Sarda College, Hailakandi, Assam, I had the opportunity to attend Refresher Course, NCC at Officers Training School, Kamptee, Nagpur, Maharashtra for 30 days , Annual Training Camp, NCC at Masimpur, Silchar, Assam for 12 days and in many other occasional programmes related to NCC programmes including Disaster Relief Operations for Flood Victims with this honest Officer where his administrative activities impressed me very much.. Such an Officer is a great pride to any institution..
I am very blessed to have the company of such an honest officer cum silent social activist and have the opportunity to learn a lot. I wish him a healthy and peaceful life.
