CMs of Assam & Meghalaya holds meeting in Guwahati to discuss border issues
Aug 6: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma along with senior officials of both the states sat for a meeting in Guwahati to discuss the long standing border issues. In this connection, on 23 July, 2021, a meeting between the two Chief Ministers was held in Shillong to discuss the issue. Today’s meeting in Guwahati was continuation of the meeting which was held in Shillong in the month of July.
Taking to his twitter handle, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Continuing our spirit of mutual friendship, after a meeting on July 23 in Shillong to resolve the outstanding border issues between #Assam and #Meghalaya, joined Hon CM Sri @SangmaConrad in #Guwahati today. This is the biggest deliberation in this direction in recent times.”
“Hopeful that after this meeting we will be able to come out with a common agenda of strengthening the long standing friendship between Assam & Meghalaya and continue contributing to the development of India. Many senior ministers of both sides, CS & senior officials joined,” added Dr Sarma.
