Travel restrictions issued by 10 districts in Assam from Kamrup Metro

July 8: The sudden spike in the number of coronavirus cases in Assam has become a major cause of concern. It is in this backdrop that travel restrictions was imposed by 10 districts of Assam from Kamrup Metro. The districts are- Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Nagaon, Kokrajhar, Biswanath, South Salmara, Morigaon, Sonitput, Nalbari, and Barpeta. These districts have already issued notices, stating 14-day quarantine if any person moves into the districts from Kamrup (Metro). Some other districts of Assam are also contemplating to impose travel restrictions from Kamrup Metro. The move was made in order to contain the further spread of novel coronavirus.
