Mortal remains of ‘Maths Guru’ Biswajit Ghosh to be kept at Ramanuj College from 10.30 AM on 16 July
Cremation to take place after 11.30 PM on Saturday
July 15: The tragic death of “Mathematics Guru” Biswajit Ghosh of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College in a street accident on Friday was indeed a bolt from the blue for many. His dead body has been brought in an ambulance from Jowai and will be kept at Ramanuj Gupta College premises on 16 July so that his vast multitude of students and well-wishers can pay their last homage.
In a message issued by Ramanuj Gupta Junior College on Friday, it was stated that, “The mortal remains of our beloved Biswajit Sir will be kept in the college premises from 10.30 AM to 11.30 AM tomorrow (16th July, 2022/ Saturday) so that students, Ramanujians and well wishers can pay their last homage to one of their greatest teacher. All the present students are advised to come in uniform wearing mask and participate in the funeral procession.”
Expressing deep sorrow, Rudra Narayan Gupta on behalf of Ramanuj Gupta Charitable Trust said, “This is perhaps one of the major shock which I got. In the afternoon, one of our former student, Aman Bansal who accompanied Biswajit Sir suddenly rang me to convey the news. Aman too sustained major injuries. Immediately, I arranged an ambulance to reach the spot and also tried to contact the doctors in the hospital where he was treated at Jowai. But all hopes were shattered when I got the information that the Sir is no more. I just don’t have words to express my condolence. His loss is irreparable.”
In a tragic incident, renowned and most popular teacher of Mathematics, Biswajit Ghosh associated with Ramanuj Gupta College Silchar passed away today afternoon. Termed as “Mathematics Guru” by his students, Biswajit Ghosh, one of the founder teachers of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, Silchar was on his way to Shillong in Meghalaya from Silchar.
As per reports, he was driving the car himself. An ex-student of his, Aman Bansal (Engineer by profession) accompanied him. However, at Jowai in Meghalaya, the car met with an severe accident at around 12 to 12.30 PM today. It was a head-on collision with a traveler vehicle. He was then rushed to a local hospital there, where after few moments he breathed his last. Aman Bansal too sustained major injuries, but is now out of danger. Sources revealed that it was a head-on collision.
The moment this incident was known, social media platforms was flooded with condolence messages from a host of students of Biswajit Ghosh, their favourite “Mathematics Guru”.
