Modi, Shah holds strategic meeting with Sonowal & Himanta
December 26: A strategic meeting was held at the official residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. The meeting took place among PM Modi, BJP National President Amit Shah, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Though the details of the meeting are awaited but sources revealed that Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, National Register of Citizens (NRC), alliance with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Lok Sabha polls are some of the issues which are likely to feature in the high level meeting.
Meanwhile, it has already been informed that PM Modi will kick start 2019 Lok Sabha campaign in Assam by addressing a rally at Silchar on January 4. The same was confirmed by BJP state President Ranjit Kumar Das. As per reports, PM Modi will be accompanied by Himanta Biswa Sarma during his visit at Silchar on 4 January. Meanwhile, the morale of Cachar BJP is very high as because PM Modi will begin the party’s campaign from Silchar. They felt that this would boost up the supporters of the party, which would enable to snatch the prestigious Lok Sabha seat from the hands of the Congress.
