Mizoram-Assam border talks on April 25 in Guwahati

way2barak April 7: Mizoram and Assam govt officials are scheduled to meet in Guwahati on April 25, Mizoram home minister K. Sapdanga said on Sunday.

Sapdanga told that the Assam govt proposed the particulars of the official level negotiations, which the Mizoram govt has agreed in principle. He said that Mizoram delegation members are scheduled to leave Aizawl for Guwahati on April 24.

A senior Mizoram home department official said that the names of members of the state delegation and detailed itinerary are yet to be finalised, and a file on the matter is with the govt for final approval.

The fourth round of the minister-level negotiations on the same issue held on August 9 last year in Aizawl was between the Mizoram delegation led by home minister Sapdanga and the Assam delegation headed by the border protection and development minister Atul Bora.
