Meghalaya CM tests Covid +ve a day after he met Amit Shah along with CM Assam
Jan. 21: On Friday evening, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed that he has tested Covid-19 positive. Taking to his twitter handle, CM Meghalaya wrote, “I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am isolating myself for the required time. I have mild symptoms. All those who came into contact with me last few days are requested to observe their symptoms and test if necessary.”
What comes as a matter of concern is that CM Meghalaya along with his Assam counterpart Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at New Delhi on Thursday to discuss border issues. It needs mention here that both Sangma and Dr Sarma went to Delhi and came to Guwahati in the same chartered flight. CM Sangma in his tweet urged upon all those who came in contact with him to get tested.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma came on a day’s visit to Silchar and participated in programmes at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), Assam University, Silchar, Circuit House, residences of former Cachar BJP President Kiriti Purkayastha and ex-Rajya Sabha MP Karnendu Bhattacharjee. CM Dr Sarma in Silchar came in contact with a number of persons in Silchar.
