Meeting held with political parties for rationalization of polling stations in Cachar

Oct. 17: Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the stage is all set for the Assam Assembly Elections, which may be held anytime after March, 2021. The political parties have already started campaigning in the state. A few days ago, BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma indicated that the forthcoming assembly polls may be held in the month of April 2021.

It is in this connection that a meeting was held on Saturday at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. The meeting was chaired by Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner. The meeting discussed rationalization of polling stations in the presence of the representatives of all leading political parties. After field level enquiry in this connection, the AEROs submitted the reports of rationalization to the Deputy Commissioner.
