Maximum 10 persons allowed from now during cremation at Silchar Smashan Ghat

August 13: Earlier more persons were permitted for cremation of dead body at Silchar crematorium (Smashan Ghat). However, in a fresh notification issued by Sumit Sattawan, Executive Officer of Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) on 12 August, 2020 specified that a maximum of 10 persons from now will be allowed for cremation of dead body at Silchar crematorium (Smashan Ghat).

The said order stated, “It is for general notification for all the people who is coming for cremation of dead body at Silchar Smashan Ghat, Silchar. Due to COVID-19 and public grievances of Silchar, it Is hereby notified that not more than 10 (ten) person per body will he allowed in the Smashanghat, Silchar for Cremation of dead body.”
