Managing Editor of Financial Express Sunil Jain & Editor of Zee 24 Ghonta Anjan Banerjee dies of Covid

May 16: Senior journalist & Managing Editor of Financial Express Sunil Jain passed away at AIIMS, New Delhi. He was 58. Jain was admitted at AIIMS on 3 May. He passed away due to a cardiac arrest after after battling Covid-19 on 15 May. Jain has been with Financial Express for over a decade. Condoling his death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “You left us too soon, Sunil Jain. I will miss reading your columns and hearing your frank as well as insightful views on diverse matters. You leave behind an inspiring range of work. Journalism is poorer today, with your sad demise. Condolences to family and friends. Om Shanti.”

Meanwhile, Anjan Bandopadhyay, Editor of Zee 24 Ghonta also lost his battle to Covid-19 on Sunday. He got admitted in a private hospital in Kolkata after being infected with coronavirus. He, however, died around 9.25 PM on Sunday. Informing about his death, Editorin-chief of Zee News, Sudhir Chaudhary tweeted, “My colleague Anjan Bandopadhyay,Editor @Zee24Ghanta lost his battle to COVID today. He got infected while covering West Bengal election.I met him last on 19th Feb when we interviewed Home Minsiter @AmitShah in Kolkata. Never thought it will be my last picture with him. ॐ शांति.”
